Chris graduated Muhlenberg College in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education. He went on to serve our country in the United States Navy Reserve from 1989 through 1997 as a Gunner’s Mate; serving in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
In his civilian life, Chris has served as a firefighter since 1983, obtained his EMT certification in 1989, and completed paramedic training in 1995. He has served in various positions in the EMS field as both a provider and in leadership. He served as a Supervisor and later the Manager for the City of Allentown Paramedics from 2001 through 2007 and as the Director of Operations for Cetronia Ambulance Corps from 2007 until 2020. He was integral to the creation of the regional disaster operating guidelines in the Eastern PA EMS region.
Chris also serves the community as
· Deputy Fire Chief of Greenawalds Fire / Rescue
· Paramedic at Northampton Regional EMS
· Course Coordinator for various programs including EMT and EMR at the George E Moerkirk Emergency Medicine Institute at Lehigh Valley Health Network
· An adjunct instructor for Bucks County Community College and a local level instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy
· Team Leader of the Lehigh County Rescue Task Force
He holds certifications as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, Pro-board Firefighter II, Fire Instructor I, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Technician, and Hazardous Materials at the Operations Level. He is also a certified PA EMS and American Heart Association instructor.
